đ¨ Finding Art and Connection at St Francis Employability

Even though I'm an English teacher at St Francis, I managed to find some time to put down my teaching hat and make some art at our Craft Club! đď¸â¨
I've never really thought of myself as an artist, although I've always enjoyed art. This time, I simply sat down without a plan. I chose the colours I liked that day and let my imagination take over. Before long, I found myself drawing an eye surrounded by brilliant, dazzling colours. đđď¸
At the time, I wasn't quite sure what it meant. I just enjoyed creating something and seeing where it took me.
But looking at it now, I see something different.
Although the eye is a single entity, its centre reminds me of planet Earth. đ It got me thinking: you may be an individual, but within you is a part of the whole.
We all have our own identities, experiences, stories and backgrounds. Yet, we share this planet and are connected to one another in ways we might not always notice. We come from different communities and cultures, but together, we make up something much bigger than ourselves.
I'm glad I took the time to sit down, experiment with colour and make something of my own. And who knows? Maybe there's an artist in me after all! đ
A big thank you to everyone at St Francis Employability who makes space for creativity, connection and trying something new. đ¨đ¤
Sometimes, all you need is a little colour to see the bigger picture. đđŤ
