What is the Big Difference Scheme (BDS)?
The BDS offers:
Discounts on Water Bills: Eligible customers can receive a discount on their Severn Trent water bill, potentially up to 70% off the average bill.
Payment Plans: The scheme designates a new payment plan for customers, which includes payments towards any outstanding debt on the account. Payments can be made by Direct Debit or a Payment Card on a day that suits when you receive your wages/benefits.
Assessment of Household Income: The scheme assesses household income when applying, which determines the level of reduction available. Evidence of all income must be supplied when completing the online application.
Support for Debt Repayment: Customers with existing Severn Trent debt will receive a discount, but a £5 monthly charge will be added to their bill to support debt repayment.
Payments must be maintained, failure to do so may result in you being removed from the Scheme and returned to the original billing for your property. Future applications may also be declined.
