St Francis Employability Allotment update.
Now that we are seeing the sunny weather arrive, we are starting to see the hard work of volunteers and staff come to fruition in our allotment. Having already harvested fresh garlic, we now have tomatoes and broad beans growing, and the beans are ready to be picked and used in one of the delicious meals at our community café. We have garlic, sweet potatoes and herbs also growing, watch this space!! The food we cultivate is used in our community cafe, where we serve breakfast

Renters rights
From May 1st 2026 the rights around renting have changed. * Landlords will only be able to evict tenants for a reason; this includes selling the property or moving in a close family member. * No more Section 21 evictions. * The majority of tenancies will become Assured Periodic Tenancies.
